Andrea has been actively engaged in the different traditions of yoga since 1986. Following many years of studying Sivananda and Iyengar Yoga, her first contact with Ashtanga Yoga was in 1997. Since then, her fascination and involvement with this unique form of yoga has steadily increased. She has trained both in Germany and abroad with many renowned instructors. She is following the traditional lineage carried by Manju P. Jois and Nancy Gilgoff. She has been a yoga teacher since 1995 and has taught Ashtanga Yoga since 2003. Manju P. Jois authorised Andrea in 2009 to teach the Primary and the Intermediate Series.

Parallel to her enthusiasm for yoga, Andrea was passionately interested in dance until 2005. The techniques of improvisation, New Dance and Contact Improvisation formed a significant part of her many years of study and teaching. She has worked as an independent dancer for 10 years and developed in this time her own artistic work.

Her formal education included Physiotherapy (1992-93) and she completed her studies in Alternative Healing in 1999, continuing her education with Release-Technique, Shiatsu, BMC (Body Mind Centering) and Feldenkrais.

She has opened the Ashtanga Studio in May 2005.

"My enthusiasm for yoga has been growing constantly over the years. The more I engage myself with yoga, the more I realise yoga is a life practice and how profoundly it impacts my life on every level. Learning yoga has been one of the greatest gifts in my life – it has made me independent and self-determined. It is a pleasure to be able to pass this technique on to my students."
